Standard Car Policy

Pay As You Go

Pay As You Go provides cover on a monthly basis for a monthly premium. You can purchase cover when you need it and switch it off when it is not required.

A renewal notice will be sent shortly before the expiry of the policy. If you would like the policy to continue for another month, we will renew it automatically and collect the monthly premium. If you would like to cancel your policy, you will need to go on-line to cancel the policy in "Your Account" on or before the expiry date.

• Earn 1 years NCD for only 8 months' claim free cover.
• Maximum NCD guaranteed for life.
• The monthly rate you are quoted will be guaranteed for 8 months providing no changes are made.

Lifetime Guarantee

If you have earned your right to maximum No Claims Discount* (NCD) you can now keep it for life! eCar Insurance will not reduce your NCD following any number of claims.

This outstanding policy benefit is available to all proposers who have 5 or more years NCD. Once you earn 5 years NCD with eCar your NCD will be guaranteed for life.

*Only No Claims Bonus earned within the European Union is acceptable

Rapid Discount Accelerator

The eCar Insurance Rapid Discount Accelerator allows you to earn 1 years NCD for 8 months' claim free cover.

The Rapid Discount Accelerator is available only on the Pay As You Go product and means that you can earn 5 years NCD in just 40 claim-free months! Once you reach 5 years' NCD of course your discount will be guaranteed.

Free European Use

All eCar Insurance policies provide cover within the Territorial Limits of the policy throughout the policy year. This extension is provided for the purpose of travel only. Your permanent home must be in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man and must also be your primary residence.

The cover provided within the Territorial Limits is the same level of cover you have in the UK. Please refer to our on-line policy booklet for details of the countries you will be covered in.

Up to 4 cars

You can cover up to 4 cars on one policy providing all drivers are aged 25 or over.

The policy cover you select will apply to all cars on the policy and you can cover up to 4 named drivers on a multi-car policy.

Breakdown Recovery

If your car is 8 years old or younger and you buy an eCar Standard or Pay As You Go comprehensive policy, we’ll include breakdown recovery for no additional cost to you.

This covers you and any passenger or driver, who is in the insured vehicle at the time of the breakdown, anywhere in the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands.

You will be provided with a high level of cover, including:

• Roadside repairs
• Home breakdown
• Vehicle recovery
• Getting you to your destination

This policy is underwritten by DAS Legal Expenses Insurance Company Limited, who only use accredited operators who have been vetted for their professionalism and compliance with quality standards.

Legal Expenses

All eCar Standard and Pay as you go insurance policies come with Legal cover included in the price

This covers you for any legal expenses (up to £100,000) you incur as the result of a non-fault accident in the insured vehicle.

This includes:

• Uninsured losses (such as damage to personal property in the vehicle)
• Claiming compensation for personal injuries
• Hiring a replacement vehicle
• Vehicle repairs (if you don't have comprehensive cover).

This policy is underwritten by IGI Ltd and the service is provided by Angel Assistance Ltd.

Legal cover not avaliable for short term or daily cover

Short term cover

We've developed Short Term Cover for those times when changing a standard yearly policy to cover you* for one off occasions or unexpected events is not really practical.

We will cover you on a social, domestic and pleasure basis for any period between 1 and 28 days and you have the option to extend this to cover commuting use as well.

Short Term Cover is ideal for:

• Driving a friend's car for a temporary period, such as an airport trip or use during a UK holiday**
• Insuring another person to drive your car temporarily if you want to share driving on a long trip
• Test driving a car you are looking to purchase
• Driving a courtesy car supplied by a garage
• Driving a car that you've hired
