Barrymore tangles with uninsured driver
Even celebrities suffer from the problem of being hit by uninsured drivers, as Drew Barrymore found out this week, states the website MoneyExpert.com
The 33-year-old Charlie's Angels star was involved in a minor motoring incident while driving around her home city of Los Angeles.
According to the website, as she prepared to exchange details, the other vehicle sped off and the actress set off in pursuit.
Sergeant Kristin Aloma of the West Hollywood, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, stated that Ms Barrymore managed to stay on the tail of the vehicle long enough to note down its number plate, which she then passed on to authorities.
Uninsured drivers are to be the target of a new clampdown according to the British Insurance Brokers' Association.
The company will be working closely with the government to watch vehicles and link them to various databases to check they are legible for the road.
Any car that is pulled over without having car insurance will be given a penalty notice and then if the same incident occurs again, the vehicle will be seized.
