Drivers do claim on their car insurance
Over half of the drivers that took part in a recent poll have at some point had to claim on their car insurance, it has been found.
Insurance.co.uk polled 1,000 motorists and discovered that over half of respondents had at some point claimed on their car insurance and 30 per cent had done so more than once.
Also 39 per cent had received penalty points since they were legally allowed to drive, something which will have future implications on the cost of a person's car insurance premiums.
Almost two thirds of Brits have been involved in an accident, but only 31 per cent believe they were to blame for the collision.
Steve Grainger, head of the comparison website insurance.co.uk, said: "When you can't even trust your own driving ability, you must be able to have faith in your car insurance policy.
"When you're looking for cover, don't just focus on getting the cheapest; make sure it's the right policy to suit your needs."
