Drivers given tips to save money
Car drivers that may be struggling for extra spending money as the pound falters to a record low against the Euro, have been given some tips on how to make their money go further by Lauren Thompson in the Times.
Ms Thompson states that it pays to be organised and holidaymakers should buy their currency on the high street as most providers there do not charge commission.
Meanwhile in relation to car insurance, drivers are encouraged to check their car insurance policies carefully, as some policies are downgraded when used abroad, according to comparison site moneysupermarket.com.
Richard Mason, director of insurance at the firm, said that it will come as a shock to drivers if their fully comprehensive insurance is downgraded to third party car insurance when driving abroad.
Also Ashton Berkhauer, of another comparison site uSwitch.com warns that most companies only provide three days full comprehensive cover when driving abroad.
However drivers should consider getting a European car insurance quote from eCar, which offer 365 days of European cover a year.
