Ford Ka 'has maintained its strong appeal'
The Ford Ka has kept its strong appeal and remains popular with motor insurance customers years after it was originally launched, the manufacturer said this week.
According to new figures, over half a million people in the UK have bought one of the models in 2009.
Marketing director of Ford of Britain Mark Simpson said despite an increase in rivals since it was introduced in 1996, the Ka has stayed popular.
This is due to "low ownership costs and cheeky distinctive styling", he added. "[The Ka] remains at the top of its segment."
Ford revealed the most loved colour was black, which is the best seller. The most popular version is the Zetec.
It also appeared in a film recently - Bond girl Olga Kurylenko drove one in the latest 007 adventure Quantum of Solace.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that the music from the recent Ka adverts was to be released as a full-length track.
