'James' and William's are most dangerous drivers'
Be prepared to receive a higher car insurance quote if your name is James or William, after recent research from Confused.com, declared that drivers with these names are most prone to an accident.
Research from the car insurance quote comparison site, found that men are more than three times more likely to be involved in a road accident than women and 17 per cent of drivers on the road called James and 16 per cent called William have driving convictions.
Looking at the ten most popular boys and girls names, the research also found that men called Alfie were the safest male drivers at six per cent.
Meanwhile girls named Ella were seen to be the most reckless female drivers with 11 per cent having convictions and Chloes the safest at six per cent.
Debra Williams, managing director at Confused.com, stated that although reckless driving has safety implications it also has implications on car insurance.
She added that gaining three points on a driving licence can see car insurance quotes jump seven per cent.
Recent research from the AA found that drivers caught using a mobile phone can see their insurance premiums rise by £40.
