Motorists buying smaller cars to cut holiday costs
Many motorists are thinking carefully about investing their money in smaller cars, in a bid to help lower the costs of driving in Europe this year, it has been stated.
Mark Huggins, head of AA Personal Loans, has said that holidaymakers are being smart with their finances this year and one of the things they are doing is buying a smaller car to save money.
He added: "It is important to make sure the car you choose is suitable for going on long holiday journeys, with enough room for all your passengers and luggage."
Holidaymakers going on a driving holiday to save money are advised to make sure they have European car insurance, which enables them to drive across the continent and are recommended to also shop around to find the best deal.
New research from AA Personal Loans has found that 75 per cent of holidaymakers are planning to use their car for trips to the UK and Europe this year as a way of cutting costs, with 22 per cent specialising on a driving holiday.
