Nissan celebrates British success
The majority of UK motorists searching for cheap car insurance after buying a new Nissan model last month will probably find their vehicle was built in Britain, if recent figures are anything to go by.
Data from the manufacturer has shown 83 per cent of the autos sold in June were from its Sunderland facility.
A third of those customers opting for motors produced on home soil chose either the Qashqai or Qashqai+2, a quarter went for the Micra, 23 per cent drove home in the Note and ten per cent preferred the Pixo.
Overall, the company's sales increased nine per cent last month, compared with the same time period in 2008.
Paul Willcox, the group's managing director, stated: "Everyone here at Nissan is proud to be one of the few brands to have made positive growth in June."
Meanwhile, people planning to buy one of the firm's autos may find they can get a good deal on cheap car insurance online.
