Petrol price drop is too slow, says AA
Recent falls in the price of petrol are good news for drivers but further cuts could be made, it has been claimed.
The AA has commented on the three-month low of oil prices yesterday (August 5th), stating that it has not been immediately reflected in the cost of petrol, reported BBC News.
Retailers are dropping prices "selectively and not quickly enough", a spokesman for the firm claimed, after it was revealed that the average price of a litre was 115p.
After purchasing a vehicle, paying out for maintenance and car insurance, paying over £1 a litre for petrol "causes hardship and misery" for drivers, according to AA president Edmund King.
"Already 55 per cent of AA members have cut back on journeys due to prices at the pumps and others are sticking to speed limits and eco driving to make their expensive fuel go further," he added.
The cost of petrol was listed by 17 per cent of respondents to a poll by MORE THAN, in which it was also revealed that stressed out parents take just 24 minutes to ask 'are we there yet?' on a journey.
